Turn Off The Water While Brushing Your teeth<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Most kids leave the water running while brushing their teeth. Did you know your family can save up to 8 gallons<\/a>\u00a0of water each day, just by turning off the faucet while getting ready?<\/p>\n

Tip: Ask them to keep the water off while brushing their teeth and only let the water run when rinsing.<\/p>\n

Turn Off The Water While Shampooing Your Hair<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Five to ten gallons of water are used for every minute in the shower. The length of your shower and how much time the water is actually running are crucial to helping reduce water waste. Kids should also opt for short showers instead of baths, as filling the bathtub to the brim requires an excessive amount of water.<\/p>\n

Tip: Encourage them to take shorter showers and turn off the water while shampooing their hair.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t Throw Waste in the Toilet<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Many kids will unconsciously flush any type of waste down the toilet. They may think they\u2019re helping keep their surroundings clean, but what they don\u2019t know is they\u2019re wasting water with every flush.<\/p>\n

Tip: Keep a garbage bin in the bathroom beside the toilet and gently remind them not to flush anything down the toilet.<\/p>\n

Reward kids for water-saving behavior. This can include notifying you of a potential leak, making sure faucets are properly closed, or choosing showers over baths.<\/p>\n

Extra dishes means extra water wasted. Teach your children to refill a single cup throughout the day, or make use of an exciting reusable stainless steel bottle<\/a> that keeps temperatures locked in and also helps reduce plastic waste.<\/p>\n
